Carmita is a midwife and passes on the ancestral knowledge of her trade to other women, thus contributing to expanding health coverage and lowering maternal and infant mortality. Rosa has created an Andean medicine school to strengthen ancestral knowledge, but she has also transformed this knowledge into the main added value of her community business project for the production, transformation and commercialization of medicinal plants. Alfredo ensures the recovery of the ecosystem through the reintroduction of native fauna, opening up new economic possibilities for the communities, such as ecotourism. They all have in common a vision of development based on the search for balance and harmony, rather than on the accumulation of material goods.
